The main goal of this conference was to find out how to stimulate and guarantee student-mobility. The presentations and discussions focused on:
- mechanisms of protection
- better accommodation
- better information for internationally mobile students
This first conference of the ECStA – established in February 1999 – attracted about 120 participants of student services, representatives from education ministries, delegates of students associations, and people in charge of exchange programs from a total of 18 European countries.
This conference report provides information on best practices of various student services in several countries. It describes initiatives to stimulate mobility, analyses national support systems, and looks at the promotion of cultural exchange and the innovative use of internet in this field.
