The German National Association for Student Affairs (DSW) advocates for a social pact for higher education that must be jointly concluded by the federal and state governments in order to support the already approved university packages. DSW underlines the need for investments of 800 million Euros for new halls of residences for students, 650 million Euros for renovation, 800 million for expansion and renovation of facilities in dining services. DSW-President, Prof. Dieter Timmermann explains: “the government support of German higher education and research has one blind spot: the social side.”
