09-10 march, 2023 in Veince, Italy.

ECStA is Partner in the Consortium that manages the “European Digital Student Service Infrastructure” L2 project (EDSSI L2). The EDSSI L2 project aims at improving the digital infrastructure of the Erasmus+ eCard in order to give the students a mobility experience without borders.

The EDSSI Consortium organized in Venice on March 9th and 10th, 2023 at Badoer Palace the “EU Student eCard Stakeholders Forum” within the activities of the EDSSI L2 Project.

The Director of the School of Doctoral Studies at Iuav University of Venice Maria Chiara Tosi on behalf of the Rector Benno Albrecht, the President of ECStA Jean-Paul Roumegas, the President of ESU Venice Piergiovanni Sorato and the Director of ESU Venice Stefano Ferrarese opened the two days Forum giving their institutional greetings. In particular, Jean-Paul Roumegas reminded that the European Student Card is an initiative from ECStA, I.E. Student Services Providers, eager to enhance the student mobility offering them a seamless access to services, digital services in particular.

Afterwards, contributions from various highly specialized IT sector operators followed one another. Researchers and professors from the universities of Berlin, Malaga, Barcelona, Vienna, EUGLOH Alliance, CNR – Stockholm National Research Center together with research from big private companies such as GOOGLE, NXT Laboratories, ELATEC and NTT DATA shared the results of their studies and experiences with all participants. They provided concrete proposals for specialists in this sector. The event presented the main developments of the EDSSI L2 project: namely the eSignature and eArchive module for electronic administration of international processes and the eCard module to harmonize eCard systems of Universities in Europe. Participants arriving from all Europe gave very important feedbacks to the presentations and actively animated the debate.

Participants and Speakers had the chance to appreciate the beauties of a suggestive Venice. As a matter of fact, for the cultural part of the Stakeholder Forum, ECStA organized the Teatro La Fenice Opera House tour and a dinner in one of the most suggestive traditional restaurants in the heart of Venice.

The Stakeholders Forum ended with a round table on the future of “student card systems”, with concrete proposals, possible scenarios and solutions to the problems that have emerged over the years.

Finally, the EDSSI Consortium invited participants and speakers to the EDSSI L2 Final Conference take will take place in Berlin on June 27th and 28th, 2023.
